Even worse, hootsuite spammed my business twitter account from my full-feature, paid for account. Without notice -- very embarrassing. Scared to use the service now, and I considered myself an evangelist for Hootsuite, telling everyone they should use it, how great it is...

they spammed - Extended use may cause awesomeness! #HootSuiteiPhone http://hootsuite.com/iphone l

Even scarier, I have the full, paid for app -- and it spammed my business twitter account -- very embarrassing. Especially since I have totally been a hootsuite evangelist, and been telling everyone they should use it.

spam shown as below:
Extended use may cause awesomeness! #HootSuiteiPhone http://hootsuite.com/iphone l

Oops my bad, read it a bit quickly as I'm at work. It surprises me
that free web apps charge for mobile apps or put in dodgy ads like this.

This experience was with the Lite version. As I said the paid version
($1.99) really doesn't offer up any more functionality than I need.

I'm still using Hootsuite Lite (along with Seesmic) at the moment despite
the adverts / trawling simply as I want to assure myself which is the best
client, not which has the most annoying business model.

That said if Hootsuite Lite turns out to trounce Seesmic in the usability
stakes I'm not convinced I'll retain it given the advert situation.

Ive not really used he web app other than to schedule a few tweets but I was interested in trying out the iphone app as the tweetie developer seems to have run off again to roll around in the profits again leaving users high and dry, but having read about your experiences im inclined to delete my account with hootsuite right away and steer clear of the app.

Was this with the paid app then? as i know they apprently have lite versions now
